There's no such thing as a standard silkie in any country. Silkies are one of the only "true" bantams, meaning there is no larger version.

Here in the U.S., we only have one size. In Europe, there are 2 sizes, bantam and large fowl.

Quote:I'm pretty sure there are both standard and bantam silkies, our Silkies in North America are slightly larger then bantam silkies but smaller then standard Silkies. Somewhere in between.

Yes, in Europe they have LF Silkies. I'm not sure if any have made it across the pond yet.

Hmm everything I've ever been told and read in books/internet is that there is only one size silkie, bantam, and that they are one of the few "true" bantams

I know the Japanese is the true bantam, there is no large counterpart.

I was wondering the same thing. I read about them having LF in China. I knew I wasn't the ONLY one who wanted bigger silkies. I would really love to have one or two, but they would have to be bigger so my LF flock doesn't pick on them too much.
