Hi, I’m new to keeping chickens. 3 weeks ago 3 eggs hatched (white Silkie, salmon faverolle, lavender araucana) in our home-made incubator and I’d like some help sexing them please. I have attached several pictures of them, although the LA is hard to stay still for a pic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The faverolle is a cockerel, the lavender ameraucana (and not araucana) is a pullet. The silkie it's a bit early to tell for sure. But I think it's a pullet
Thanks so much for your reply. Yes we did think the faverolle is a cockerel. Here in the UK I’ve been told they’re called lavender araucanas but thanks for the correction (still new to all of this). Glad we have at least 1 pullet, fingers crossed for eggs next year.

Definitely a cockerel for the Faverolle...and the others prob too early. You‘re right with your Araucana name for the UK though. America and the UK have totally different breed standards so our Araucanas are like their Ameraucanas. They are hard to sex (I have 3 3week old chicks right now ans am not sure what i have but suspect 1 pullet, 1 cockerel and the other is an unknown)

Wow.

Such interesting color combinations! Its pretty amazing how many types there are.

I hope things work out.
