What causes green eyes?
Melanin. Blue eyes are not really blue it is just the way our eyes perceive the light that is refracting through the eye. Blue eyes simply have little or no melanin and green eyes have some so that the "blue" light refracting through them is seen through the slight tint that the melanin provides. And yes, I have green eyes.
Now if you are trying to understand how you get green eyes genetically then do a search on-line. There is a lot of new research on this subject that is either really interesting or really tedious depending on your level of interest. I was really interested at first but felt more than a little overwhelmed pretty quickly. It's a really complex subject and the folks who think it can be explained in a few sentences are sadly misinformed!
