So I live in Arizona where it actually gets hot..(sorry I see people posting about hot in 90's, which I consider a kool breeze).... My chickens did fine up to about 105 but now with it 118-120 today and yesterday and going to be at the minimum 115 for next 10 days at least they can't get kool! The combs and waddles were super red and hot. They were panting so hard they were making horrible panting sounds like wheezing! I hose them off constantly, give them frozen stuff (which literally melts in 2 seconds!) I can fry an egg on the cement easier than my pan right now... I was so worried that I couldn't stand it and brought them inside and put them in the dog crate in my laundry room. I have at least 3 more months of this! What can I do??? I have 2 hens and a rooster and they are about 5 months old. Am I going to have to keep doing this? About 10 minutes inside and some frozen fruit later they perked up and don't look like death. Help??!
