NO, NO , NO ,NO how many times can I say no. I was thrilled with the info here and my first year of artificial lighting. My girls laid like summer. Wo Hoo. Oops. After that my girls moulted in June and did not lay again until this spring. These were first year pullets and are now screwed up. don't BE ME. I was new to chickens and thought I would master It.

Hard to tell what went wrong. When were the chicks hatched? Not enough info to go on. Many of us have lighted for years & never had a problem. Too much of a generalization.

Agrees, need many details.

Not sure anyone can ever 'master' keeping live animals....there are always new techniques and changing variables.
