Ask Me Anything!

Discussion in 'Managing Your Flock' started by roostersandhens, Oct 27, 2013.

  1. Ask me anything and I will awnser IF I can! I know lots on chickens! So I hope I can answer. I want to test myself on how much I know! Ask me things you want to know or things that you want to quiz me on!
    Thanks!

This sounds like a fun thread---maybe I should make one for myself (I love chickens and know a lot about them, too). [IMG] Here are a few testing questions:

    1. What is the difference between the flight and primary feathers on the wing?
    2. What is the causative agent of Chronic Respiratory Disease (virus, bacteria, etc.)?
    3. How does chicken (and other bird) blood differ from that of a mammal?
    4. What is a capon?
    5. What are pneumatic bones?

    Wow...those are tricky.How about this:
Why does a hen go broody?

  4. To have chicks... Usually around spring.

Because her instincts tell her that it is a good time to hatch chicks.

  6. That too!

  7. How does chicken (and other bird) blood differ from that of a mammal?
Birds' erythrocytes have organelles and nuceli, which most mammals do not have.

  8. What is a capon?
Note: I am a vegan so don't know much about this but, isn't like a cooked rooster?

  9. What are pneumatic bones?
Bones with an air filled space.
