Today, I received my shipment of 15 purebred bantams from cackle hatchery. We ended up getting 18 instead of 15 because the hatchery added a few extras. Since it was an assortment, I don't know for sure what breeds they are, so if you have any idea, feel free to speak up! Sorry for bad quality pictures. Here's what they look like:

There are 4 of these little guys. They are black with a marbled pattern on the top of their heads and white bellies. Not sure what breed.

I have 3 of these, but unfortunately, one of them is barely hanging on. She's exhausted looking, laying down and not moving much. I have elevated her so that the other chicks don't trample her and given her water, but I'm not sure she's going to make a recovery at this point:'( They are cream colored all over and quite small.

There is only one of this breed, and as you can see, her leg is deformed. When I opened the shipment box, her foot was trapped underneath the heating block thingy, and after a day of practice, she hobbles around like in the picture. I suspect that this happened either when the chicks were being packed or during shipment. When we first took her out of the box, her leg was splayed out and she couldn't stand. Other than her leg, she is eating and drinking fine with plenty of energy. So maybe she'll be able to live with it? She looks just like the cream colored chicks except for the dark patch on her wing.

These 3 guys have well defined stripes on their backs and by their eyes. They are slightly bigger than the others and are very energetic. I think that maybe this breed and the next are some type of old english game bantam.

These 3 are just like the ones before, except their colors are softer and a little more orangy/brown toned.

Lastly, these 4 chicks have a dark back and white belly. I was thinking that they might be Japanese black.

That's it! If anyone has any ideas on breed, let me know. I surely would appreciate it.
    Thanks!

you might be able to fashion a tiny cardboard "shoe/splint" for your babies feet. you can do a search on the forum to get examples. if you get her in the splint soon enough she might heal back to normal. it's worth a try. she's so cute!

I did try that, and after about 12 hours of wearing a splint, she learned to walk on it normally! yay!
