We have 9 chicks total 3 Leghorns that are about 4 1/2 weeks old, 3 Black Australorps that are about 4 weeks old and 3 Ameraucanas/Easter Eggers that are about 3 1/2 weeks old. At what age can I move them out of the garage and into their home? We live in Georgia and it has been in the low 90's during the day and in the mid 70's at night. The Leghorns are almost feathered except for their heads and rears same with the BA's. DH should have the coop complete in the next week or two and he is itching to get the chickens out of his garage. Also when I move them out should I put them in their run during the day and in the coop at night? or should I put them only in the coop at first so they learn it is their home? It is well ventilated with hardwire on the back and windows in the front. Basically it is designed to be a 3 sided hot weather coop that closes up at night for security so no I won't be locking them in an unventilated coop in 90 degree weather. Thanks for the help!

I'm no expert, but I'd say with those temps you could put them into the coop any time now. Mine are going out at 5 weeks and I'm in Upstate New York with much lower temps...

You should be able to put them out when the coop is done. If you start at 95 degrees, at 5 weeks you will be down to 70 degrees. If you get a cold spell, you could put a light in with them overnight.
