At what age can you start to sex SLW's

    I have 10 SLW they are close to 2 months if not a bit older. When can you start to tell which are roos and which aren't other than a bit of feather difference they all look the same to me.

    It kind of depends on where you got them. Hatchery birds are harder to tell with than most breeder quality birds. By 8 weeks I can generally tell on mine (not hatchery birds) by the feathering patterns and the comb and wattle development.

    I had a very strong guess at 5 weeks and I was correct- by 7 weeks it was VERY clear who my roo was and who my pullets were!

    Well these came from a local breeder but they all look the same to me. I can't really see any difference in any of them

    Do they have nice lacing across the back or more streaky white on the back?
    By that age the pullets' lacing on their backs should apparent.

    I'm not sure what I'm looking for here. 3 have a bit thicker comb and short tail feathers if thats any type of sign and not near as much lace on the back.

    Yeah I see the difference there thank you for all your time. I think I have same pretty low quality birds here lol. I can't get the pics posted.

    looks like I have 4 Cocks and 6 hens [​IMG] means stew pot for 3 of them.
