I paid for all pullets, but I know it's not guaranteed. The freebie the hatchery tossed in (a Golden Campine) started crowing very early, by 4 weeks old. They rest are two each Buff Orpington, Black Autralorp, Speckled Sussex, Whiting True Blue, Whiting True Green and Gold Lace, Silver Laced and Columbian Wyandottes. A couple of the Whitings look different, kind of eagle-like in profile, but I'm not seeing, or hearing, any indications of sexing errors at 9 weeks old.
Is there an age when I can pretty much figure I got what I paid for?

At 9 weeks, those breeds will be easy to sex if you post some pics

I think!

Whitings are distinguished by comb....single = green, pea = blue....both should be yellow legged. All but the one way back on group shot are pullets, is that one your campine(cant see much of him so not sure)?

The chicken in the first photo (ignore the repeated pic, please!) is also the third chicken back in the second picture. And the chicken in the last picture is the second chicken in that second photo. And the third Whiting (blue?) is in that third photo, standing on the broccoli!

Yes, that’s Teddy Roostervelt, the Golden Campine.

And the fourth Whiting is the black one standing below the roost, while the Australorps are on the roost.

I could just be simple minded, but comb shape determining egg color blows my mind. Thanks for sharing that!

Around 12 weeks you can almost always be sure about sex.

This was stated specific to differentiating between Whiting true blues and Whiting true greens, not universally applicable to other breeds.
