A local couple was given 72 hours by animal control to remove their two hens. They're petitioning the city to change the ordinance to allow up to three hens per home.

I live south, in Pompano Beach, and last week was given a letter, if you want to call it that from our animal control officer. My hubby told him that we would call his sister in Melbourne and ask if she could keep them there at her place, we will be going to visit her next Sunday. He said okay to that. I have a post on here already. we are going to go to our commissioners as well. I don't see what my keeping chickens has anything to do with anything??? He just said that someone complained. I'd like to know who, because I've had them here for 8 Months!

No roosters, I re-homed my rooster, which was supposed to be a pullet, about a month ago, so, whats with this??? Let us know how they make out. told the hubby, no way am I giving up my babies.

Ah ha - this is what I heard about.

So - have you filed a petition? I'd love for it to include Jacksonville proper as well. I'll happily sign if you do the petition.
