Australorp 5 weeks male or female?

View attachment 3054744I have 3 (5-6 week) BA chicks- this one has the most developed comb and wattles - they look pinker in person than the picture shows- I suspect it is a cockerel, but only time will tell. We bought nine chicks total to start our flock tending adventure and will be fine as long as only one is a cockerel 🤞
I guess you know by now. I expect she was a pullet. My Black Australorp chicks are about 6 weeks now. I had 12, sold all but 2. My last 2 are a cockerel and a pullet. The cockerel’s comb and wattles are RED. The pullets’ combs were pink, mild colored. He “crowed” (squeaked) at 5 weeks.

(Edited ages.)

Cockerel on the right. Almost 5 weeks.

Edited age (younger than I thought)
