The saga of the broody Australorp continues. This is the third time this year. The 2 times she left the nest at about 15 days...but this time I am prepared! I have my bator going (have some silkie eggs in there, I don't think they are fertile though, will check again in a few days) and if she decides to leave the nest again, I'll just pop the eggs in the bator. I've been exchanging the eggs she lays for EE/Phoenix X....hoping to get some really colorful birds.
