Hello all, one of my new Australorp 'hens' has started crowing in the morning, answering a distant rooster and displaying general roostery behaviour. He's going back to the farm to be swapped for a girl tomorrow. I'm still finding it hard to see the clear physical clues about his masculinity in terms of weathers, so I have been taking photos and looking closely. Just wondering...can you guess by looking at the pics, which one of the chickens below is the one crowing? Thanks.

Yep, the middle bird. Larger comb and wattles, longer legs and a gawky look while the hens are more feminine looking. And you can also see the start of saddle feathers at the base of the tail...
