Hi there! My chickens are 7 weeks old, and my flock is already down by one, thanks to a she that turned out to be a he a couple weeks ago. Now I think we might have another.

What are the chances this is really a she, do you think? My birds were purchased as sexed pullets.

I am a total neophyte and I feel fairly certain it's a roo, too. The general behavior of running around investigating stuff, being extra jumpy (but friendly)... Plus this is its 'sister', hatched the same day.

At seven weeks with that much comb and wattle I'd vote roo right now.

Chances are really, really good that's a rooster.

Thank you all. Sigh. I will keep it for now and hope hope hope in another couple weeks he looks more like a she, otherwise he'll find a new home. It's a nice bird! My other roo was a total jerk. I'd keep this one, except for the whole living-in-the-suburbs thing. :/
