Last year we purchased our first chickens at a local feed store, which were sold as a "rainbow mix". Being total newbies we had no idea who was what. Luckily the amazing people of BYC helped identify our entire flock, and now I thought I'd share a some photos of our lovely Australorp rooster, who started out rather goofy looking to be honest. We weren't sure what the heck he was! But now he's protecting our hens and producing some rather adorable chicks. [IMG]

Oh my what a silly fellow he started out to be. I am happy to see he has come into his own and is quite handsome.

I am glad you are able to keep a rooster.
