My australorp is 17 weeks old, although everyone says it’s a rooster, it still hasn’t crowed. Have you had experience the same with Australorps?

My black australorp cockerel (Romeo) didn’t start crowing until he was about 20 weeks!😉 I wish I could attach a video of it because it was hilarious!🤣🤣 He would also crow while being held (as he got older)!🤣 This is one of the only pictures I have of him crowing (he’s about 7 months here)!😉 But unfortunately we had to get rid of him shortly after this picture was taken due to aggression!☹️

My chicks were picked up in the last week of April. Stayed in a box in the kitchen to start out, which we expanded. I named the smallest chick Pipsqueak, since he was much smaller than the others, but he was first to come for hand feeding, and would hop up into my hand when I held crumble in it. His first attempt at crowing was on June 1st. That's when I knew I had a rooster. By the time I got the coop ready, he was full on crowing......in the living room..... between 4:30 and 5:30 am

Our rooster is either an Australorp or Plymouth Blue Rock ( I can’t tell the difference) it is now 4 months and is just starting to express himself. We keep telling him he’s doing better but needs more practice!
