I just thought I would give my review of the new automatic chicken coop door that we just installed. We got the one from Fleming Outdoors, it has no wood in the construction so there is nothing to rot or warp. The door is made of aluminum so it won't rust either. We have had it in & working for 2 days now & I have to say I'm impressed. My hubby is not a carpenter or a greatly handy guy & this door was super easy to install. We just cut the opening in the wall, screwed on the frame, & plugged in the timer & motor after setting the current time, time to open & time to close. It works like a charm & our chickens get to come outside into the run much, much earlier than we could let them out since my husband works 2nd shift & we aren't early risers. The door wasn't cheap at $220, but they had a promo code for $10 off that I used & that helped pay for shipping. The door is well worth the cost for the peace of mind. I just lost a hen one day before we got our new run & coop ready & moved them to a raccoon who reached through the chain-link dog run fence & grabbed her & then bit her head off. I feel so much better now to know my hens are in a safe coop that is closed so nothing can get them at night.
