I just got an awesome idea for quail housing today. I have an abandoned dog house thats huge! Its like 6 by 6 and the walls are 4 inches thick! If I could make a area about 4 by 6 inside, would I be able to keep about 10 or 15 quail in there? Thanks!

Edit: it has a wire pen on the front from when I had my guineas in it. I am going to take it off.

6ft by 6ft gives you 36 sqft...you could put 3 dozen quail in there IMO. Coturnix quail that is. Also you would probably need to do some modifying to allow proper air flow, etc.

Ya I thought it would work! I already have an 8 by 8 inch window in the side! It was a booger to cut the wall to put the window in. I had guineas in it before and they loved it!

That looks like a small shed to me not a dog house lol. Are you just planning on raising them on the ground in there or in seperate small pens...if you did stackable units you could have a lot of birds. I can't wait till I get my new quail setup done.....then I can post pics...my new setup is kind of like what I'm thinking for you.
