Today were going to be focusing on wry neck in chickens and how to prevent it. (Also, awnser of the day is a thing im going daily where im going to be awnsering illnesses and problems to chickens to try and help some people the best i can!)

Wry neck is where your chickens neck becomes twisted, it often leads to the birds death because they cant eat properly, hold their head up, and often cant walk.
the first thing is know this wont be treated instantly, its going to take a while. You need patience time and care for this to work, in most cases you have to feed it by hand and give them water from a dropper.
Its very stressful for your chickens (and bad for them!) so its important you treat it as soon as you beileve your chicken may have developed it.
First, seperate the bird, this is very important. Not only does this help the stress, but the chickens will often bully them, walk over them. (This isnt contagious, you just should separate them to make them feel more comfortable and its much safer for the hurt chick with wry neck)
Give them some portions of electrolytes and MAINLY vitamin E supplements. I find spinach working good for this matter, but whatever you have. You have to of course help it eat, drink. It cant eat properly with its neck all twisted, so you need to hand feed it and give water.
You can see small improvements from 24-48 hours, but it can take a while. It will probably get really bad before it can get good again, be patient, keep calm and help them out the best ways you can.
Make sure you give them constant viatmins to help this sort of thing, as it often is done by vitamin diffency. Sunflower seeds work good for that, as they have some Viatmin E. best of luck! :hugs

Do you think B12 will work as well?

So much vague and misinformation.
Just what is your experience with keeping and treating chickens?
My thoughts. The (very misspelled) title and the post itself aim for an air of authority that is not backed up. Information is incomplete and inaccurate. What do you aim to accomplish? There already is plenty of basic information on wry neck, both on BYC and elsewhere on the internet. Do you have anything new to add?
