I am not sure, maybe some blacks and some blues. [IMG] I love crossing ducks and chickens to see what colors and body types I can get. I haven't ever crossed different colors in the same breed though. [IMG]

You would get 50% Blue ducklings and 50% Black Ducklings.

Blue/Black/Splash works the same in ducks as it does in chickens. If you bred a black rooster to a blue hen (Andalusian blue, not self-blue), you'd end up with 50% black and 50% blue chicks. Same as in the ducklings.

Nope, it works exactly the same. If you bred two blue ducks together, you'd get 50% blue, 25% black, and 25% splash ducklings. Most colors are completely different in ducks and chickens, but B/B/S works the same. [IMG]

    Blue/Black/Splash (BBS):

    Blue x Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Black, 25% Splash

    Blue x Splash = 50% Blue, 50% Splash

    Blue x Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black

    Black x Splash = 100% Blue

    Black x Black = 100% Black

    Splash x Splash = 100% Splash

Yes, annarie is correct... this is one gene that works the same in both chickens and ducks as it is incompletely dominant in both. To get splash, you have to breed two blues together so that some of the offspring can inherit a blue gene from each parent, making them homozygous for blue (what some authors refer to as "two doses").
