Hi all, I recently got some chicks to go under a broody hen and it hasn't gone to well.

1 died a night after being with her then another popped off the next day then 2 days later another and then today we went down and she was rejecting the only one left? I've since bought that chick upstairs to be with us under heat lamp and with some other little chicks we have.

Any ideas what could have cause the deaths and why she rejected the last baby?

Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening again?

Possibly not a very good mom. Maybe too young and inexperienced. What breed is your broody?

    How old were the chicks?
1 or 2 days old is best.

How long had the broody been broody?
Longer they've been broody the better.

Had she hatched out chicks before?
