Many people ask about emergency kits for their birds. There are many threads and articles on this, and honestly, my chicken kit is obnoxiously over-stocked, because I did not think about expiration dates.
That said...
I swear by keeping baby bird formula and nutridrench (or other poultry vitamins) on hand. It is becoming my go-to for a bird who is “off.” It saved Millie from starving herself to death during molt, and today it saved Cashew from I’m not sure what. She hid in a bush with her tail down a good portion of the day. When I snuck her a little bowl of warm baby bird formula with nutridrench, she gobbled it up and perked up. She has acted completely normal and hung out with the flock ever since. Go figure!
