baby bird out of nest in broarder area

found new born on back inside broader area today was crying but couldnt turn over. my wife has her in a make shift nest with a heat lamp on it .. the mother bird has 5 other chicks under her and two more eggs in the nest. what to do with the baby ...... help?

Sometime mother birds reject their young for some reason or maybe the this one just lost its way
I have had a hen hatch several eggs and reject one chick
Can the chick walk/stand by itself?
If you think it is strong enough you can try reintroducing to the mother bird, I would try doing this by placing it under the mother without her noticing ....make sure you keep a close eye on them though
If the chick continues to be rejected you may have to keep it separate and hand raise it

I just noticed you are talking about guinea fowl and not chickens but I think the same principles apply as for chickens
