About two weeks ago we picked up six baby chicks to start our chicken family. We got two each of Buff Orpingtons, Ameraucanas, and Blue Australorps. One of the Buff Orpingtons is not growing like the rest. They are about three weeks old and she is falling behind in size! She eats and drinks with no issues, but she does some strange things. At times she will gasp for air and sleep off on her own. Other times she seems just fine and is amongst her sisters playing, etc... This has been going for about a week or so.
Regular cleaning of the brooder, fresh water, heat lamp, and they are on chick starter crumble.
Any thoughts on what might be going on or what we could do to see if we can change things for her?
Thanks!
Brian and Robin
