I have a new baby chick and her feet look abnormal. They are curled and I’m trying to find out why. I don’t know what breed she is and I was told it could be a rooster. It was a runt. Has anyone seen this before or know what I can do to help her? I’m concerned so won’t be able to roost either. I would appreciate any info about it.

I have a chick right now that had curled toes at hatch. (It was an assist). I understand it is important to intervene as soon as possible. The above article that @JaeG cites is helpful. I used some card stock and paper tape (it is what I had in the house).
Try to line up the toes in their natural position as best as you can and straighten them out before applying the tape. You will need a second pair of hands. Good luck!😊

Poor little thing. It can be caused by an issue during incubation, or it can be a deficiency. Here's some information and how to fix the toes:

Good luck with the little one.
Thank you. The feed store I bought her from also directed me to curled toes and how make "sandals" for her. I just hope it's not too late. She's not a newbie out of the shell but we're going to try anyway.

She just hatched on Friday. Here’s a photo of her this morning. She’s walking fine with them on. I’m going to take them off this afternoon see how they look and make new ones if needed.🥰
