Baby chick - advice needed

Hi, we've had a whole batch of chicks at my school hatch and then die 2 days later. They suddenly get weak and die. I have a very weak one at home and need to know how much water to feed it and how often? The eggs took a long time to hatch and someone said that's why they are dying now. Not sure though, as don't know too much about chickens! Thanks

If they took longer to hatch than usual, or if they were kept in too hot a brooder for too long, they could be dehydrated and might even have something like visceral gout.

One can tube feed a small chick Kaytee Baby Bird Food through a tube... Size 8 french is the smallest I've had to use. I will look up the amounts. The most important thing to remember when tubing is to correct hydration first as tubing food to a dehydrated bird can kill it.
