Baby chick - butt sitting!

Baby chick born 36 hours ago and keeps sitting on her butt. Is alert- and pooping. When encouraged she will take a couple wobbly steps but always goes back to butt sitting. I tried the “ splayed leg” treatment but she still sat on her butt- and her legs are facing forward.....Any thoughts??? Remedies??

It does look like splay leg. Try giving her chick vitamins and electrolytes in her water and dip her beak to get her drinking well. Poultry Cell or NutriDrench are good too. If her legs are wide apart, I would continue to treat for splay leg. Vet wrap strips or a bandaid with the legs placed about an inch and quarter apart are about right, and they need to be on for about 3-4 days.
