Crazy Baby...
I just built a second chicken yard (Stalag 2) for a batch of baby chickens that I got from John Blehm. The little scramblers are seven weeks old, and we THOUGHT that they were securely caged up in the approximately 20 by 20 foot, completely fenced in area.
We are close enough to forested area that every once in a while, a wild rabbit gets into our yard, looking for fresh grass or lettuce to eat.
This morning, I went out into the yard to find one little buff ameraucana child out of her Stalag -- and I kid you not -- that little seven week old chick was giving a fully grown, adult rabbit the chase of her life!
I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes -- the chick wasn't half the size of the rabbit, but it was the rabbit that ran in fear from The Charging Chicken!
