I bought 3 chicks yesterday from the farm center here in my town. They have a heat lamp on half of the cage and the other half not. They have fresh water and chick starter food. When I brought them home all were pretty active. This morning my Rhode Island Red is acting sorta drunk. I have not seen it eat or drink anything today. She just lays there. I put her in front of the water, she would not drink, same for the food. Yesterday she was super active. I am worried something is wrong. I have newspaper down with paper towels over that for bedding. They are only about a week old maybe.

Have you tried dipping her beak into the water? I know my chicks never ate or drank til I dipped their beak in food or water. Is it possible she could have eaten the newspaper?
