We had a chick born earlier today via natural with the hen. It has yet to stand up and walk. It has been at least 12 hrs. My husband said he thinks the hen walked on it. It is trying to move but can’t seem to lift its head. Any thoughts?

How is the chick?
Legs look puffy from what I can see and the navel is not closed.
Gather the chick up, swab the navel with chlorhexidine, then apply a dab of triple antibiotic ointment or bacitracin.
If you have an incubator, fire that up and put the chick in there with humidity around 50-60% Put the chick in a paper towel lined coffee cup and leave it for a while. See if it starts to move it's legs, come around and if the navel starts to close.
If you don't have an incubator, you'll need a warm place for the chick, a heat lamp, heating pad cave, etc. I'd still place the chick in a cup, see if it can get itself right.
If not in the incubator, do monitor that the chick is not overheating. You can give it a drop or two of poultry nutri-drench or sugar water every few hours.

Chick is still just laying. Last night or was trying to stand up but it could not get up. I’m thinking it has some internal damage from being trampled on by the hens. 😔. It is just laying breathing very slow. I work during the day and unable to do anything for it right now. 😔

Where did the hen go? Does she have more eggs still hatching? Do you know what day is today regarding hatch date?

That open belly button was NOT caused by the hen. Usually seen in incubation with too high of humidity or too low of temperature.

Nutritional deficit is a high possibility limiting standing upright. Administering something like Poultry Nutri Drench is recommended.. IN addition to the first posters suggestions.

Anywhere between 21-40 days We think the hens grabbed more eggs and sat on them. We are in the south so the humidity is awful here.
Should I bring it inside under a lamp? It is currently in our brooder area of the coop with three other healthy chicks with a lamp
