Hi,
I have 5 chicks that are about 10 days - 2 weeks old. 2 of them (my Easter eggers) I noticed this afternoon had huge distended crops. This is my first time raising chicks, though I've had chickens for 4 years. I called the farmer who sold them to me who suggested I take out the wood chips and replace with sand. I did that, massaged the crops, and watched them poop (normal looking). I'm hopeful that what I saw was just full/bedtime crop and will check in the morning. They are both chirping, have bright eyes, and are otherwise acting normally. One crop was firmer than the other. I've read a few crop articles and threads here (thanks!) but
I am unsure how much is normal and how much to do since the chicks are so very young. Here are some pictures if that helps. I'd appreciate any advice!
