Hello all. How soon can you start feeding finely chopped greens to baby chicks? Thanks for any advice.

I was always told to keep your babies on a quality starter and grower until they are ready to be moved in with your other chickens.

Yes, but there really isn't any harm in giving small quantities of "treats." If they were outside with their mom they would probably be foraging and eating greens. Just give it in moderation and make sure they have some grit (see the recent post on grit).

Thanks, DrakeMaiden. That is sort of what I was thinking, that out in "real life" they would be pecking around. I'll wait a week or so, start them on very small amounts of grit in the next couple of days and see how it goes.

[IMG] Have fun with them! They grow up way too fast.
