Hi. I've finally turned off the incubator! I've had a successful first hatch with a "wingy" incubator but everyone seems to be doing ok. I do have a question. I've read that it would be beneficial to feed plain yoghurt to new chicks in order to give them healthful bacteria in their gut. Is this ok to do and if so, when? Thanks everyone!

I use probios, it's a probiotic made for animals including chickens. It's the same thing as giving yogurt, but easier. I put 1/4 teaspoon in 4 cups of water. I am extremely satisfied with it.

Thank you...I'm not sure I can get it here (not a lot a feed stores) but perhaps online.
