Baby Chicks born today both have 5 toes and are not silkies

    I have 2 chicks that hatched this morning. They are what I can heinz 57 chicks. Mom is a Bantum Cochin and Dad is a Bantum mixed also .

    Both of the chicks have 5 toes. Can I bet my lucky stars they are males?

    I want to see pictures of the parents. [​IMG] Maybe they have salmon flavorelle in them....dont they have five toes or maybe silkie in the background. I bet they are cuties.

    Looks like daddy has a fifth toe. They are some beautiful birds. Wow!

    The mother has the feather markings of a Black Tailed Columbian OEGB. Does she have black tail feathers?

    That rooster is absolutely breathtaking!! I do see a fifth toe on him. I love the hen's coloring also!

    I see some leg feathers on the daddy and he just might have some silkie in him somewhere. He does look a little fluffy in a way so maybe its a recessive gene somewhere and its just now showing up in your new chicks..It dont matter I just love baby chicks...mine are almost all Heinz 57 also...
