A couple of my baby chicks have dried poop stuck to them. I tried to remove with water and gauze. Should this be a concern?

Hello and welcome to BYC!! If the poop is stuck to the babies bottom, it can shut off it's ability to eliminate waste and it can die. If it is stuck elsewhere, it is ugly, but no harm. Use warm water to soften the poo and pull it off with your fingers. It will come off fairly easily once it is soft from the water.
