OK, I have my 4 chicks in a plastic tub, and all 4 are digging a hole in the center of the wood shavings. And they are pecking at the bottom of the tub. What are they looking for? Is this instinctual?

boy would my chickens pay for themselves quickly....

Its quite funny watching a bunch of chickens trying to dig in the dirt and see a cloud coming out.

My hubby could take one of your chickens to work with him they hit oil all the time (cept they're a natural gas drilling rig lol).

I think them scratching is one of the cutest things, esp watching chicks do it, and flinging it all over the others...ha ha
