We are new to chickens... I had some when I was a child, but do not remeber much.. Anyway, we have 8 baby white rock chicks, I believe they are 2 to 3 weeks old. (We got them at a flea market.. ) Today when I picked them up I noticed that there bellies are almost raw.. Is this normal??

I don't know anything about that breed, but I do know that when birds are stressed or depressed they will peck their own feathers out. Mainly on their bellies... Maybe they are just losing their down feathers (baby feathers) and growing their actual feathers... Wait for a few days to see if their feathers come out... And make sure their area is always clean, they might be pecking their feathers out because they are trying to keep them clean... And matbe try to put a toy (papertowel cardboard for example) in their area to keep them entertained... This is my first time raising chickens so I couldn't tell you exactly what's going on, but I think it would make sense to try these???... Good luck!
