In a few weeks, I'm planning on getting 3 chicks; 2 Australorps and 1 silkie. But then my pop said that you need to get two silkies. Do I? Because the chicks will all be the same age and will be welcomed to the other chickens at the same time. So yeah...

Do I need to get 2 silkies if I'm already getting 2 Australorps?

I usually buy two just in case I lose one. But I have had 3-4 and ended up with one left. I really liked that guy. They built a solar farm across from me and whatever used to hunt there is now haunting here. When my girlfriend, who had given me that one, brought me another one to add to my other babies. She did end up being a miniature but is doing just fine. So I think as long as there are others with her you are fine.

I don't see any reason why you should have to but 2 but myself im a lil ocd and hate odd numbers so i would buy two just cause you never know what could happen you may loose one and its also a even number lol
