We got new chicks last Thursday ... 15 meat birds, 5 red sex link, 5 white leghorns, and an EE. We lost one meat bird in the first 24 hours but the rest were doing fine. Yesterday morning we went out and the rest were still there but when I came home from work at 3:00 one of the reds was gone. We looked everywhere for that bird and it was just gone completely. What could have happened? We haven't had any predators even in their yard, let alone their house and the brooder end only has one window with screening over it and three solid walls. None of the other babies have been bothered at all.
