Baby duck eye is deformed

Morning folks

I had a barnyard mix- mostly pekin baby born June 9th. It was having some difficulty hatching but one quick zip around by me and out it came. Healthy, good voice and strength but one eye is swollen/deformed

All I have done this far is allow more ‘face’ dunks for this wee one. It eats, drinks and runs around. There is really little change since birth.

Thoughts? Treatment?
I was thinking warm eye bath with poly sporin drops or ointment.

If this has been there before hatching or when it hatched it may be a defect that isn't correctable other than by surgical means.

A few questions:

Was the eye like this immediately after hatching?

Is the mass squishy and soft?

Is the eye usable?

Can the mass be seen near the eye socket when the eye is held wide open?

If so, does it have a thick, cheesy look?

Possible infection, cyst, tumor, or defect. If it's an infection there would be leakage near the eye when the area is pressed. Probably not a tumor as it would probably be more solid feeling. A cyst would be somewhere between squishy and solid. My wife removed a cyst from my serama roo's eye, but it was close enough to and over the eye to be easily seen; she cut pieces off the cyst until it was small enough to squeeze out between the lids; her operation was successful and the cyst has not returned.

What to do is hard to know. I wish you and the duckling the best of luck.

What have you done so far?

Just ran water over the eye.

Opened it to take the photos above.

Rinsed again after touching it and put polysporin on it.

The wee one is eating and drinking and digesting fine. Lots of peeping and looking for attention

Give it till tomorrow and see if the polysporin is doing any good. @Isaac 0 or @casportpony any advise? That’s great to hear the wee one is eating drinking and digesting all normal.
