i just saw some baby mallard ducks with their mom but it seems late for ducklings. usually i see them in the spring not summer. its august 14. will they be old enough to migrate in the winter?

I have Rouen & Golden Cascade ducklings both in August. Also there is a bunch of eggs under my Rouen right now which are due to hatch on the 31st of August. ~Julie~

In some parts of the country, it's not abnormal to see ducklings in August. They may not migrate at all. I live iso Cal and many ducks live here all their lives.

Same here....we are in Utah, and I got my first ducks last August. The people I got them went on vacation, came home and found yet ANOTHER batch of babies. Ours stay here all winter long.
