    Hi there,

So sorry to hear about this little one! Keep cleaning the vent and coating it with vaseline or oil of some kind.

Good luck. Keep us posted on this wee baby.

  3. Take your bird to the kitchen sink. Take everything away that will be contaminated by the bird.

Run WARM water and put your birds butt in the stream. Leave it there until everything is washed away. Take a really good look at the opening (there is only one). Gently, gently squeeze around this area. Take note at how the bird reacts.

Look for prolapse, any blockage and presence of worms or insects.

This is going to be a commitment for you. You may have to clean the birds butt several times a day.

Guinea fowl are usually VERY hardy birds, even the babies.

Make absolute sure that you have not torn the skin. If you have then you will need to treat this.

Please let us know what you find.

You have done the correct thing, repeat, repeat, repeat.

I am so afraid it is raw already. It can not sit down.It could at 1st.I ordered these 2.But one of them died. The second day.It was very weak.Thsi one was just having a good time.I put 2 more little chicks in with them 2 hoping it would make them warmer. But I am so scared to say,it may have got something from other 2 birds. What do u think?1 of them was running white yellow looking stuff/But I have cleaned it and Doctered it up and it is better.I am so upset about this,Tahnks for your advice....I am going right now,to work on it again.I hope it won`t hurt it too much.Let me know if you think it will.ok Sandra

    Sandra,

Hard to say it'll be OK without being there to see it in person. It sounds like you're doing the right things to help this little guy out and have a chance.

[IMG] Well thanks, and i done what yall told me to do.And it was backed up inside of it.It was some white stuff around the regular poo.And it was alot of poo.It took it real well.It seems to feel better. But the other little chick in htere won`t leave it alone.it wants to peck at it.It was running clear when I got done.It just cried a little bit.But acts like it feels better. It is weak now.And wants to be alone. So I pray it will be ok.I know I will be up and down all nite to check on it.It had a bad smell to it.A unusal smell.I don`t think it had any worms,I could not see anything moving.I will keep u updated. Thanks so much,Sandra
