I have to cull out two broiler-fryer sized pullets from my flock of RIRs. For reasons too involved to go into, they have had an extended time on Agway medicated chick starter, due to what seemed to be a health problem (the flock was started on a non medicated feed and seemed to get touched with cocci).

Anyway, the two birds I am culling/slaughtering in about two weeks are going off medicated feed tomorrow, Aug. 1. If I slaughter on/around Aug. 12-14 will there be Bacitracin residue in their meat? Agway says the Amprolium can be fed right up to processing time. But I wonder about the Bacitracin their starter feed also contains, as an anti-enteritic.

Can anyone help? Super technical articles aren't too helpful!! I do not know what kind of Bacitracin it is exactly, either. The Agway pamphlet simply says 'Bacitracin'.
