I've got a 4 day old chick that has a bad leg. It's right leg stays under it but it's left leg stays stuck out. It basically gets around while plowing through with its head on the ground. Ive been taking it to the water and food but caught it at the water on its own yesterday. Is there anything I can do to help the leg heal or form correctly? I've heard a few "splint / tape" stories and I'm wondering if anyone has some insight here??

You need to take a few pictures from different angles and post them here. Be quick about it too, these things get harder to correct with each day that passes. There are several different problems that can cause these things and we need to determine what the cause is before we can recommend a course of action.

I can't help with how to fix it, but I would move the chick to a separate box, with maybe one or two others. With that many chicks, this little one will likely get trampled to death, as it can't stand up or get out of the way.

If you haven't already done so, of course. Good luck!

I'm attaching some links that might help. I cannot tell for sure from the pictures if your chick has severe spraddle or perhaps a slipped tendon.

Hopefully these will help you identify the exact nature of the problem, if it's spraddle it should be fixable with a few days in a hobble(bandaid) brace, if it is a slipped tendon, it is harder to treat and sometimes it doesn't get better.
