We actually had 5 chicks hatch out of 78.
2 of them died almost immediately. The other 3 were so coated with dried gunk that I didn't think would come off. I had to peel the membrane off of them and use warm water to get their wings unglued from their eyes and their feet. But at a week old these little guys are starting to look like chicks!

The rest of this bunch were hatched a couple days ago from the HovaBator
Now THIS is going to be one interesting chicken!
It's pretty obvious that her (?) daddy is the Silkie roo I posted in the Ugly Chicken thread. This is one of the baked ones.

She (?) is developing regular buff/grey feathers on the wings, but her chest and shoulders are white silkie fur!

Quote:Yes! She has downy "fur" starting to grow at the shoulders and chest, while the rest of the wngs and her back are developing normal feathers. I can't wait to see what she looks like when she loses all her baby fuzz.
