Bald Chicken booty

I have 2 chickens that have bald spots around their vent. Is this normal or something I should be concerned about? I attached a photo.

No they are not pecking at each other that I have seen.

I haven’t noticed any “unhappy” behavior...they are white Orpingtons.

How old are they?
I do see some new growth coming in, but also see where they may have been plucked.
Observe your flock during the day, but especially when getting ready to roost. Likely the plucking is happening then.

Space issues, boredom and nutrition are a few causes.
Evaluate your space - sometimes large fowl need quite a bit of room than you think. Boredom - give them some things like straw or leaves to dig through. Nutrition - increase protein - if you see the others plucking and eating new growth.
