hi all one of my baba ducklings has developed a long thin bald patch on the back of its neck, it hasn’t been there long and appeared quite suddenly, it isn’t red or inflamed as we can see and he doesn’t seem to notice it, we haven’t witnessed any of the others bullying him and non of the others have it, here is a pic.

Is there anything he might be rubbing his neck on that could be wearing the down off? Such as him sticking his head through a fence, etc?

If not then the other ducklings might be chewing or pulling the feathers off, which might mean you need to separate them for a bit.

Sometimes the down falls off before the feathers grow in. Could be wearing its down off on something too. Also over preening during naps from other Ducklings can cause that too. It's nothing to worry about...

Good...I would be positive that no other flock members are peaking at the little guy. If so you can take precaution if so...glad he is getting better! keep us updated!
