Balding pullet

Hey.

I was just wondering if you guys could help me work out whats wrong with my pullet. She may just be moulting but thought i'd check.

I seen her today and she has lost lots of feathers under her chin, on her body and up her legs. I can't see any signs of mites and she is still pottering about as if nothing is wrong.

She has stopped laying though.

She is 10 months old and has 4 sisters. 2 of which are 2 weeks older than her. And 1 that is the same age. Those are not showing any signs.

It's currently the end of winter / beggining of spring here.

Do you think she is just moulting or could there be another problem?

As i thought spring born chicks skipped the Autumn moult. Then moulted properly in the following Autumn.

Do you have a rooster? I had one do this and checked her for mites too. Turns out the roo really likes her and it's from him holding on.

Yeah i have a roo. But he's really gentle with them. There is no feather loss on the back of her neck or over her back, which is where i assume i'd see the bald bits if it was him.

The other hens lay alot and are all in really good condition with no feather loss at all.
