I have just hatched 5 ducks ~ three hatched first then the other two 24 or more hours after ~ both seemed to take ages to recover after hatching not like the others ~ one doesnt seem to have much of a neck and is quite stunted and small ~ hes eating and drinking normally but he just dosent seem normal ~ any ideas ?

Sometimes the ones that have difficult hatches take a little extra time to recover. It’s hard work getting out of that egg after all.

The stunted one may grow now that it’s hatched.... perhaps it was too crowded in the shell, who knows?
Or it may have other defects inside that aren’t visible....

The fact that it’s eating and drinking well is a good thing. Once it starts pooping, if that’s normal too, then I would be cautiously optimistic.

But honestly, it’s like that saying: Only time will tell.....
